When I mentioned yesterday that Flavors.me added a play count beside your audio posts from Tumblr, I was — not surprisingly — unaware that this is available in Tumblr itself. Matthew Buchanan kindly pointed me to the appropriate help file.

As most things are with Tumblr, it’s easy to add this bit of information to your theme. Here’s how my code looks before and after adding the desired {FormattedPlayCount} variable.

{Month} {DayOfMonth}{DayOfMonthSuffix}, {12Hour}:{Minutes}{AmPm} {block:NoteCount}{NoteCountWithLabel}{/block:NoteCount}

{Month} {DayOfMonth}{DayOfMonthSuffix}, {12Hour}:{Minutes}{AmPm} {block:NoteCount}{NoteCountWithLabel}{/block:NoteCount}
Plays: {FormattedPlayCount}

And the result looks as follows:

It’s just another example of how it’s easy to love this platform. Everything is so customizable, and easily so (if you spend a few minutes reading the manual).
