Great, great post from Adam Clark on what many North Americans Christians struggle with. That’s the tension of the walk with God — we are to rest in His work, but at the same time, be holy. This is a seeming dichotomy, but in reality it’s not. One thing that has helped me is to remember that once covered by the blood of Christ, you are holy. God looks at you and sees the blood and righteousness of Christ. The work is already done, the battle won — we just don’t see the full, final result yet. But He does.

The work is then to live the life He’s already made possible. This can only be done by focusing on Him, and not ourselves.
